Kingrail has developed new seamless pipes products that will be used in Russia.

The seamless pipes meet API 5CT standards according to the L80 grade and are 200mm in diameter.

Used in oil drilling applications, the pipes have the following chemical composition:

The pipe manufacturing process begins in a 900t metal mixer, and an 80t oxygen top and bottom blowing converter, then processed in a continuous casting machine.

The pipes go through a fine inspection process then high-pressure water phosphorus removal. A micro-tension reduction machine is used before the pipes are cooled, straightened, cut and cleaned. Finally, the pipes are inspected and packaged.

Pipes are heat treated according to API standards through normalising, tempering, and quenching. Through this production process, L80 seamless pipes play a crucial role in connecting casing and tubing.
