FRANKLIN SQUARE — Salem Township Road Foreman Jason Entrikin talked to trustees about a pair of pipe projects Tuesday night.
Part of a pipe under Conkle Road near the edge of the road was in bad shape, but he said the majority of the pipe is in good shape underneath the road. The plan is to purchase 60 feet of 36-inch pipe to slide into the current 42-inch pipe to act as a liner, that way the road won’t have to be dug up.
The cost of the pipe was estimated at $3,200.
He also reported that a sink hole developed on Gromley Road and when he filled it, he returned and discovered the hole dug out again, he fixed it again and then discovered a groundhog had been the culprit. He also discovered damage to a crossover pipe, so he’s replacing the pipe and told trustees he needs to call for a price. The cost of 40 feet of 15-inch plastic pipe was estimated at $800 or more.
In other business, trustees approved some routine resolutions related to the Local Government Fund distribution and accepted the amounts and rates set by the Columbiana County Budget Commission for 2023.
Resolutions on the agenda related to American Rescue Plan Act funds were tabled.
The next trustee meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. July 12 at the administration building off of state Route 558 in Franklin Square.
